#0732 16.5m DMS KB9 Interceptor
Developed for the Royal Malaysian Customs, these interceptor/strike craft follow on from the previous work that LOMOcean Design has successfully completed in Malaysia both for Customs and Police.
The boats are intended to ambush and intercept small boats smuggling contraband amongst the myriad of channels around the mangrove forests of Malaysia’s coastline.
Entirely built with carbon fibre composites out of a female mould and powered by two MAN 1550hp diesel engines with surface drives, these interceptors deliver an impressive sprint speed of 65 knots – all the more remarkable given the boats are equipped with overnight accommodation for crew, galley, ablution facilities etc.
Four of these craft were constructed by DMS in Johor, Malaysia.
