#0201 Wavepiercer Polaris
Designed by LOMOcean for an Australian client, this 20m tri-deck wavepiercer catamaran was intended to fulfil the role of a Queensland coastal cruiser, capable of supporting the owner, his wife and their extended family and friends for extended periods.
The vessel is powered by twin 800hp Caterpillar diesels offering a sprint speed approaching 30 knots, yet a range in excess of 2000 miles is easily possible at a passage making speed of 12 knots.
Her maiden voyage was the 1000 nautical miles plus passage across the Tasman Sea between New Zealand and Australia – a rough stretch of ocean and a trip completed in comfort.
Originally christened Polaris, the boat was renamed Ultimate One and now charter fishes out of Kimbe in Papua New Guinea.
